As addicts and alcoholics, we tend to blame our actions on the substances we ingested, because - under the influence - we did and said things we normally would not do or say.
Back in the '70s, a comedian by the name of Flip Wilson popularized the phrase, "The Devil Made Me Do It!"
But in all truth, no matter the circumstances, nobody forced us to act out like we did. We need to accept responsibility and own up to our actions.
